Superkombat WGP Finals 2011 on Eurosport

World Class kickboxing from Bollenfalltorhalle in Darmstadt, Germany this Saturday as SuperKombat presents The World Grand Prix Finals; a 4-man Heavyweight tournament consisting of 4 separate tournament champions.

In the first bracket of the WGP Final, 3 time Ukranian Muay Thai Champion Sergei Laschenko (27-9) battles Erhan “Pitbull Attack” Deniz (20-8), a Turkish kickboxer who trains out of the world renowned Mejiro Gym in Amsterdam.  The 24-year-old Lascenko earned his spot in the WGP Finals with KO wins over former WKA European champion Dzevad Poturak and Czech kickboxer Roman Kleibl in May of this year.  His opponent Deniz won the Grand Prix 4 championship this past October by KO’ing Angelis Konstantinos of Greece and defeating Wendell Roche of Curacao by decision.

In the second bracket, Dutch-Surinamese kickboxer Ismael Londt (26-2-1) of Team Slamm takes on 2-time European Kickboxing Champion Pavel Zhuravalev (39-6-1) of Sevastopol, Ukraine.  On July 16th, Londt made his way into the Finals in impressive fashion with a KO win over Romanian Sebastian Ciobanu and a first round TKO victory over Croatian Mladen Brestovac.  Zhuravelev won his respective tournament on October 1st with unanimous decision victories over Ricardo Van Den Bos and Sebastien Van Thielen.

In a reserve bout, Former North American Muay Thai Champion and 2003 K-1 World GP Vegas Champion Carter Williams (34-20-2) of Modesto, California takes on undefeated Romanian kickboxer, Benny Adegbuyi (8-0-1) with the winner getting a chance to jump into the final should an injury occur.

Other than the WGP Finals, SuperKombat has also managed to stack the card with other world class fighters in interesting match-ups.  Romanian kickboxer and 3 time Sanshou Champion Andrei Stoica (24-3) takes on former European Muay Thai Champ and 2 time K-1 Croatia Tournament winner James Phillips (69-21) in a Heavyweight contest.

In the always exciting 70KG division, former W.M.C. Muay Thai Featherweight World Champ Mosab Amrani (48-6-4) steps into the ring against 32 year old Moroccan kickboxer Falder Chahbari (77-12-1)., training out of Brummen, Netherlands.

Other exciting fights on the card:

-2002 K-1 World Max Champion Albert Kraus (65-17) takes on Alex Shmidt of Germany in the 70KG Division.
-Former WKN intercontinental Heavyweight Champion and former Pro Rugby player Catalin Morosanu (28-5) battles Polish Kickboxer Kwaniewski Wielaw.
-2009 Wushu champion, Bogdan Stoica (31-3) of Respect Gym in Bucharest fights Jake Bostwick of England in the -88KG division
-Alviar Lima (57-16) of Team Super Pro in Dordrecht Netherlands takes on Sucu Tevfic of Turkey.
